I am thrilled to announce the expected litter of Laurel Mountain Llewellin Setter Puppies. Totem of Laurel Mountain was bred to a Laurel Mountain Llewellin Setter, Dylan (out of Santana by Count), in early October. Dylan’s family is from northern Michigan. He is a fine Llew and loves to hunt wild and wilely Montana Pheasants. Totem is a just 3-year-old Llew. She’s seen Ruffed Grouse in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and a few in PA. She’s spent this season on Prairie Grouse and Pheasant in South Dakota. We will hunt quail in Kansas on the way back to PA in a few weeks and then she’ll rest up the last two weeks of her gestation in PA while I unpack from living, working, and hunting in South Dakota for 3 months, build a whelping box and get supplies ready.

Puppies are expected around December 9th and will be ready to go to their new homes in early February. They will be whelped and raised in Ligonier, PA unless I can find a rental in New Mexico (so the girls and I selfishly can hunt quail all January while raising the pups. đŸ˜‰

Puppies will have dew claws removed and will undergo the Super Dog Program (Early Neurological Stimulation). They will be handled daily and raised underfoot. I introduce crate training, housetraining, and everything I can think of to make their transition to a new home easier on them and you. If you know how I raise puppies, you know.

Puppies will be available to excellent hunting homes only and I prefer those that are previous LML parents who agree with raising a Llewellin Setter puppy as naturally as possible to give them the best health and life possible. This means leaning toward raw feeding, not kibble. This means keeping your dog fit and lean and healthy. This means you will use a holistic veterinarian. This means waiting until they are at least 3 years old and using alternative spay/neuter practices or keeping intact. This means responsible owners who believe in natural, holistic alternatives to fleas/ticks, etc., those that will follow a minimal core vaccination protocol, etc.

Send an email to inquire about reservations.

Stay tuned for all the updates.

Love, M.
