I am. Well, I’m ready, but I’m not prepared. Ha. You know what I mean. I can’t wait, but I’m not ready physically or with everything I need. I don’t have the dogs ready either. I am completely blaming the heat and work.

The past few days in PA we have been blessed with temperatures in the 60s! Wow, if that’s not enough to get the heart pumping and the dreams of hunting occupying every waking and sleeping moment.

Phoenix is ready.

The girls and I will be heading out as soon as possible. However, I can’t say exactly when that will be, yet. It depends on work. And this year might take us on new adventures. I’ve always been a Northwoods Ruff Grousin’ girl but dreamed of traveling and hunting every upland bird species in the US. I’ve attempted that trip since 2011, but it never worked out. It won’t happen this year, but I might get a few of the prairie species checked off the list as work will take me to the grasslands for most of the season.

Phoenix and Totem chilling in the Ambo on Setter Camo đŸ™‚

I have so much to learn about hunting prairie birds–hoping for Huns, Sharpies, and Chickens to start… the prairie grouse–it is a whole new world from my love and familiarity of the Ruffed Grouse woods. I am very excited to see the girls loose on the prairies. And I just might be meeting up with a perfect date for Totem late fall.

Stay tuned for our next adventure! If you would like to get together to hunt and film and talk Llews and birds, reach out.

What are you hunting this year? What are you most looking forward to?

Any advice?

That’s all for now, but stay tuned for a lot more to come!

Hug your Llew.

Love, M.
