This is a bit of a long shot, but sometimes the right dog turns up at exactly the right time.

I am currently in the northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan with my Llewellin Setter female, Phoenix, and she is in season and flagging now. I had an intended stud lined up for her in Pennsylvania, but I am currently in Michigan caring for someone and am unable to leave and make the trip back to PA during her breeding window.

So, unexpectedly, I am searching for a suitable stud who would be available within the next few days.

First Choice: Laurel Mountain Llewellin Setter

My preference is very strongly for a Laurel Mountain Llewellin Setter or a male carrying significant Laurel Mountain/Lynnhill/Shoeleather bloodlines.

However, because of the short breeding window, I am willing to consider other exceptional Llewellin Setter males depending on:

Pedigree and bloodlines
Overall health and soundness
Health
Temperament
Natural bird ability
Hunting experience and performance in the field
Conformation and overall structure

Hunting ability matters. I am looking to produce the kind of dog the breed was meant to be—an intelligent, biddable, athletic bird dog with strong instincts and the temperament to also be a wonderful companion.

Phoenix is currently ready to breed, so this is an extremely time-sensitive search. Ideally, I am looking in northern or central Michigan, but I am willing to consider traveling within a few hours for the right male if the distance is reasonable enough to make the timing work while I remain here caring for my friend.
