A mink raided our pigeon loft last night and got all but four of our training pigeons. I am devastated! We had a wonderful loft of racers that were fantastic for training. I prefer racing pigeons for training, as they get up and zoom straight back to the loft where as I find with feral pigeons, they are in no hurry to return and I lose more to hawks along the way back.
I am now in the market for several retired racers to build our loft back up, if you know of any for sale.
This is the first time in many years we’ve lost any pigeons to a critter.
